Z-Plasty Technique for Labiaplasty Cosmetic Surgery

Dr R Sadove first described this type of Z-Plasty Technique for Labiaplasty cosmetic surgery for many years ago. The excess pigmented skin is evenly trimmed without a potentially troublesome straight line scar.

This is based upon the similar technique which is used to separate the fingers of children born with two fingers fused together, cleft palate, and many other problems. The Z-plasty technique leaves a “Z” shaped incision which avoids the risks of painful straight line scar band contraction. As in eyelid surgery, fine instruments and sutures are used along with Z-plasty technique for labiaplasty cosmetic surgery on the delicate tissue.

Labia tissues are extremely delicate and must be treated with the fine technique, instruments, and sutures that the best plastic surgeons also use on other tissues such as eyelids.
“Trim” and “wedge” techniques leave straight line scars and other problems. Labia trim techniques leave a long scar which can contract over time and lead to an unnatural appearance. Wedge techniques may leave a “notch” in the center of the labia with uncorrected excessive labial length in front and behind the central wedge removal.

On occasion, the skin over the clitoris ( clitoral hood) may be removed in a manner similar to removal of prepuce skin over a male glans penis. Removal of the “hooded” skin over the clitoris is an additional procedure which can be done at the same time. To know in details about vagina cosmetic surgery, you can contact us now!
